Rising to the occasion, Weiner won’t pull out

Fading faster than his rise in the polls for New York City mayor, former congressman Anthony Weiner has plummeted to fourth place in the Democratic primary field, according to a Quinnipiac University Poll released late Tuesday.

With over 20 declared candidates for mayor, more than have of those surveyed – 53 percent – suggest Weiner should drop out of the race.

Weiner – who first rose to national stardom in 2011 in his now infamous crotch shot – has vowed to stand tall and continue his campaign despite sexting young women while married.  Bringing parody to the race while violating the fundamental vows of marriage and abusing the public trust, Weiner remains hard in his commitment to become mayor of America’s largest city.

Crossing party lines – Democrat, Republican and Independent alike – gender, ethnicity and religion, voters have been unforgiving as allegations of continued bad behavior plague a shrinking Weiner base.

“With six weeks to go, anything can happen, but it looks like former Congressman Anthony Weiner may have sexted himself right out of the race for New York City mayor,” stated Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.  “And with Weiner in free-fall, it begins to look like a three-way race again.”

While obstinance and delusion continue to rein supreme for Weiner, he refused to fade from glory and vowed to continue despite his lewd messages to women.

“Quitting isn’t the way we roll in New York City,” Weiner stated in a minute-long video posted on his campaign website late Tuesday.  “Someone wants to come out with something embarrassing about you in your private life; you’ve got to talk about that for a little while.”

“If politicians like Anthony Weiner and Eliot Spitzer can reinvent themselves despite allegations of lewd photos, messages and using the services of a prostitute, anyone can,” Rico Petrocelli, former chairman of the Broward Republican Party in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, told Examiner.  “He who is without sin, cast the first stone.”

Rico Petrocelli to chair Broward County Housing Authority

 

Former Plantation councilman and Broward Republican Party Executive Director Rico Petrocelli has taken on a new role – Chairman of the Broward County Housing Authority. 

The real estate and management portfolio of the Broward County Housing Authority has grown to include 13 housing communities. Staff has grown to more than 95 professionals. Together with their housing vouchers program, the authority provides housing opportunities for nearly 12,000 Broward County elderly, disabled and family residents living in the private rental market.

The BCHA also offers services through the HUD-certified Housing Counseling Program.

“Congratulations to Rico on such an important achievement,” stated Richard DeNapoli, Chairman of the Broward Republican Party.  “He is such a great guy and highly deserving to be chairman of the housing authority.” 

Appointed by the governor, the five commissioners of the Broward County Housing Authority are not paid for their service and serve at his leisure.  Serving as vice-chairwoman is Mercedes J. Núñez.  Additional members include Sharon Day, Juan Selaya, and Jennifer Nicole.

Day is also co-chair of the Republican National Committee.

Petrocelli, the nephew of Americo Peter “Rico” Petrocelli – the retired Boston Red Sox shortstop and third baseman – is rumored to be eyeing the council seat of Plantation councilman Ron Jacobs in the upcoming March election. 

Broward Republican Party offers Supervisor of Elections evidence of deceased voters on Broward rolls

The Broward Republican Executive Committee (“BREC”) has determined that deceased people are still listed as “active” voters in Broward County, Florida.  This is according to the website of Dr. Brenda C. Snipes, the Broward County Supervisor of Elections. (“Broward SOE”)

BREC officials conducted a search of the Social Security Death Index (“SSDI”) for Broward County for the 2011 calendar year.  Said search was conducted through www.GeneaologyBank.com between May 13 and May 19, 2012.  The results revealed that 9,960 Broward County residents had passed away during the calendar year ending December 31^, 2011. 

BREC officials then checked 2,100 of these names – without regard to party registration – against the Broward SOE’s web site.  481 deceased individuals cross-referenced by name, birth date, city or zip code were found to still be listed as “active” voters. This calculation represents 23 percent of the deceased persons examined.  

BREC officials undertook this detailed examination to help protect the integrity of the local election process. They are forwarding evidence to the Broward SOE of these 481 deceased yet still “active” voters so she has ample time to conduct a thorough investigation and remove the names of deceased voters from the registration rolls prior to the 2012 primary and general elections.  

All voters want a fair and honest election.  As an elected official herself, Broward Supervisor of Elections Dr. Brenda C. Snipes, must correct this oversight.  According to a prepared release, the Broward Republican Executive Committee will assist the Broward SOE on this fairly simple endeavor.

Chairman Richard DeNapoli will present these findings at tonight’s regularly scheduled monthly meeting of the Broward Republican Executive Committee.  The meeting starts at 7:00 PM at the Sheraton Suites Cypress Creek hotel located at 555 NW 62nd Street, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309.

Originally launched on AM 1400 WFTL in 2004, as the “Credit Restoration Consultants Hour,” Bill Lewis provided self-help tips and advice regarding credit repair, finances, and related topics. Throughout the years, Bill’s show strayed from the original concept of providing financial awareness to his listeners.

Almost 500 Republicans attend 2012 Broward Lincoln Day Gala

 

 

Living up to a campaign promise and his Eight Point Platform for the Broward Republican Party, Chairman Richard DeNapoli staged yet another successful fundraiser in Saturday’s Lincoln Day Gala.

Almost 500 Republicans attended the annual Lincoln Day Gala at the Hyatt Regency Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi was the featured keynote speaker at the Broward Republican Party event.  Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater, Congressman Allen West (FL-22), and Republican National Committee co-chair Sharon Day were among special guest speakers in attendance.

Party Secretary Michael De Gruccio returned as the 2012 event chairman.

“It was my honor to return as chairman of the 2012 Broward County Lincoln Day Gala,” said De Gruccio. “We had an amazing keynote speaker followed by special guest speakers that not only honored the legacy of President Abraham Lincoln but our Republican elected officials.”

Prior to the dinner, BREC Chairman Richard DeNapoli hosted a VIP Reception for nearly 200 that included the Florida Attorney General, the state Chief Financial Officer, a prominent Congressman, the Republican National Committee Co-Chairman, a number of local, state, and federal officials as well as candidates for public office.

“The VIP reception offered an opportunity to chat one-on-one with Attorney General Pam Bondi, the keynote speaker and special guests CFO Jeff Atwater Congressman Allen West, and RNC Co-Chair Sharon Day” said DeNapoli. “Guests also had an opportunity to speak with candidates running for the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, the Florida House and Senate, as well as local Broward County offices.”

Returning as auctioneer from appearances at both the 2011 Broward Lincoln Day Gala and the inaugural Grand Old Party BBQ was Highlands County Commissioner Don Elwell.  Standing tall above the crowd, Elwell successfully raised thousands of dollars for local Republicans through a live auction.

Attorney General Pam Bondi opened the evening as the featured keynote speaker with a feisty and dynamic speech on a variety of issues.  Bondi, who had just returned from a trip to New York and the taping of a segment on Sean Hannity, donated a pink tie – autographed by Hannity – for the evening’s live auction.

Still excited from her recent argument before the U.S. Supreme Court on the constitutionality of Obamacare, Bondi recalled some of her experiences concerning the case.

Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater followed stating that “you have the state of Florida and our federal government taking two very different paths.  In the great state of Florida where you have elected Rick Scott, where you have elected Pam Bondi, Adam Putnam, and a Republican legislature – this is what happens in a downturn. You get people that go to bat for you.”

“Things in Florida are completely different from the federal government.  The federal government has raised your taxes, raised the debt, increased regulation. In the state of Florida the last three years has been the exact opposite – your taxes were reduced, regulation was reduced, and debt was reduced.”

Congressman Allen West fired up conservatives, telling Republicans to “find the enemy and fight them wherever they are.”  Like American paratroopers before the D-day invasion, West said they “must be like sharks that smell blood in the water.”

The audience applauded and cheered throughout his 19 minute speech, as West appeared before Broward Republican’s for a final time.

West concluded with words from the farewell speech given by Confederate General Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson when he was promoted by Robert E. Lee.

“He said to his brigade they would always be first in his heart,” said West.  “Broward County will always be first in my heart, and I will never forget you,” he told the standing room only crowd.

Special guest and Republican National Committee co-Chair Sharon Day was also encouraged by the work of the Broward Republican Executive Committee and stated so in an interview following the event.

“It was great to see so many Broward Republicans together in such a Democratic stronghold. Taking back the White House and the Senate is the only way we can save America.”

“Lincoln Day was an overwhelming success,” former Plantation Councilman and BREC Executive Director Rico Petrocelli stated. “It was encouraging to see many new faces from throughout Broward.”
