Christine O’Donnell to Appear on The Credit Report with Bill Lewis

Christine O’Donnell will be on the air Thursday morning on AM 1470 WWNN and The Credit Report with Bill Lewis.

The Tea Party favorite will join Bill Lewis and discuss her new book: “Troublemaker: Let’s Do What It Takes to Make America Great Again,” in advance of her book signing on behalf of the Republican Party of Broward County.

The Delaware Republican grabbed the national spotlight last fall in her U.S. Senate campaign following a primary win against Congressman Mike Castle and her subsequent campaign against now Senator Chris Coons (D- Delaware).

O’Donnell has returned to the spotlight with a book that is a combination autobiography, part-policy paper, and part-recap of her stunning primary win in Delaware.

After defeating Castle, O’Donnell did not receive much support from the Delaware Republican Party.  In fact, much of the 2010 campaign was spent fighting “the establishment,” a fight O’Donnell details in her book.  “Certain party leaders rolled up their sleeves gnashed their teeth and came looking for me.  I’d already set off our state party leadership with my 2006 and 2008 campaigns, but here, it looked like I was ready to ruffle even bigger feathers on an even bigger stage,” stated O’Donnell.

In “Troublemaker,” O’Donnell backs away from her infamous “I’m not a witch” statement; something that was designed to play off of comments made years earlier on Bill Maher’s “Politically Incorrect” show about “dabbling in witchcraft.”

O’Donnell also writes about her regrets in signing with media consultant Fred Davis, the man behind the infamous commercial, but takes the blame for not speaking her mind, “It was a wrong-headed move, made for all the wrong reasons, but it was mine.”

As the book title implies, O’Donnell appears to thrive in the face of adversity.  She writes, “I once heard a priest, ‘If you’re going to love your enemies, you first must have the courage to make some.’  Let’s face it: I was making enemies left and right—and here the phrase had particular meaning for the way I seemed to anger folks on both sides of the aisle, on the left and on the ostensible right.  It was beginning to feel like nobody from theDelawarepolitical establishment, Republican or Democrat, wanted to see me run.”

The book signing is scheduled for 12 noon Thursday at the Coral Ridge Yacht Club in Fort Lauderdale followed by a luncheon.   The luncheon is $35.00, all inclusive, with an autographed book available at $25.00 per copy.  A photo opportunity will be available.

“We are excited to have Christine O’Donnell here in south Florida,” stated Rico Petrocelli, Executive Director of the Broward Republican Party.  “We are expecting over 100 people at the luncheon.”

Congressman Allen West: Short, Sweet and to the Point!

Taking a page from the playbook of General Anthony McAuliffe – whose forces were surrounded in Bastogne by the Germans in World War II’s Battle of the Bulge – and his famously written one-word response to a surrender ultimatum, “Nuts!” is none other than Congressman Allen West (FL-22).

In response to a letter from the Council on American-Islamic Relations requesting that the Congressman disassociate himself from activists the group considers anti-Islamic, the South Florida Muslim group received the shortest letter ever seen from a member of the United States House of Representatives.

How short?  A single word – “Nuts!” – All in capital letters.  Never at a loss of words and straight to the point was the freshman Congressman from Plantation, Florida.

“I was shocked at first. I didn’t expect this from a congressman,” stated Nezar Hamze, executive director of CAIR Florida.  “We stand up for the civil rights of the Muslim community.  That’s what we do,”

Hamze wrote to West earlier this month with concerns about the Congressman and his relationship with groups and people the South Florida Muslim group considers to be anti-Islamic.

“When I first saw that, I wasn’t sure if he was calling me nuts, or he was calling my concerns nuts,” said Hamze.

In prior correspondence with CAIR Florida, Congressman West indicated that he was neither anti-Islamic nor anti-Muslim.

In other news:  No decision yet on whether Congressman Allen West will run in the Republican primary for the United States Senate to unseat Senator Bill Nelson (D-Fla.).

“I cracked it open enough so that people can slip a note under the door and I can read the note and I can write back on the note ‘probably not’ and send it back out under the door,” West said Monday night at a Palm Beach County Tea Party gathering, reported The Sun-Sentinel.
